For over 160 years we have been active as an industrial supplier of exclusive woven and knitted fabrics for the worldwide market. The entire weaving, knitting, upgrading and finishing process takes place in our own factory in the Netherlands.Â
Van Heek Textiles focuses on several product market combinations. We produce and sell a vast variety of materials, ranging from woven cover and window decoration materials to knitted insect screen mesh and technical fabrics.Â

In-house production
Van Heek Textiles specializes in manufacturing of semi-finished knit and woven fabrics.
The entire process, from weaving and knitting to dyeing, coating and finishing is carried out with care in our own factory in Losser. With an impressive weaving and knitting machine count we are able to produce high-quality knit and woven fabrics with exceptional precision and efficiency, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients. The in-house control ensures consistent quality, flexibility in design, and the ability to fulfill both small and large orders within tight timelines.

quality control
Our quality department plays a crucial role in ensuring the control and conformity of all materials we produce. This emphasises our commitment to delivering high-quality products to every customer. Our factory houses a specialised laboratory equipped with precision instruments, allowing us to closely monitor material properties.
Obtaining the correct material properties is a fundamental and systematic step in our quality control process. Evaluating fabric colour involves meticulous comparison of production samples with reference standards. To ensure that materials fall within acceptable parameters, they undergo thorough visual inspections under different lighting conditions. However, colour assessment is only part of the broader spectrum; properties such as fabric weight, thickness and overall material composition must also meet our strict standards.
In addition, certain items undergo thorough testing for stiffness, flame retardancy and tensile strength to ensure comprehensive quality assessment.
In our laboratory we continually work towards optimising our existing products and processes. The laboratory also supports the production and is responsible for quality analysis. Depending on the application and requirements, we test on:
- Colour
- Thickness
- Weight

- Stiffness (Shirley test)
- Flame retardancy (indicative B2)
- Rub fastness (dry and wet, according to ISO 105, crock test)
- Tensile strength (according to ISO 13934)
- Tear strength (Elmendorf)
- Blocking at 50°C and 70°C
- Double fold test
- Glueability
- Offset, screen and foil printability
- Hanging behaviour of window decorations
- Light transmission, absorption and reflection values
